There’s something energising about working with teams who are ready to engage, learn, and lead with greater purpose. Over the past few months, we had the privilege of delivering multiple Emotionally Intelligent Leadership Trainings with leaders, managers, and team members across various NSW Government teams—and the energy in those rooms was unforgettable.

Across these two-day sessions, participants didn’t just learn frameworks—they lived them. Here’s a closer look at how the training unfolded.

Day 1: Building Awareness and Confidence

Morning: Emotional Intelligence + Empathy in Action
We started with the fundamentals: self-awareness, empathy, and DISC personality insights. These sessions helped participants understand how they naturally show up in the workplace—and how others do too. Activities like empathy mapping created space for real conversations about trust, psychological safety, and social insight.

Afternoon: Communication and Confidence
Once the foundation was laid, we shifted focus to confident, assertive communication. This included practical tools for navigating tough conversations and building clarity under pressure. A standout moment? Our board-breaking confidence activation—a powerful (and literal) breakthrough experience that pushed participants past limiting beliefs and into something new. The room always erupts with cheers—and for good reason.

Day 2: Culture, Change, and Leadership in Motion

Morning: Culture Starts With Us
On Day 2, the focus turned to building healthy, values-driven team cultures. Participants explored trust-building practices and strategies to strengthen team cohesion. Every group developed action plans to carry their learning forward into daily habits.

Afternoon: Change, Productivity, and Strategic Leadership
The final block of the training was all about leading through change and uncertainty. Using practical tools and proven frameworks, participants explored how to stay focused, make better decisions, and lead strategically—especially when things feel uncertain.

One of the highlights was our E.M.E.R.G.I.N.G. Leadership World Café activity. Teams created visual posters inspired by the key themes of strong leadership:

  • Essential Skills
  • Management
  • Engagement
  • Resilience
  • Gravitas
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Navigation
  • Growth

This exercise led to meaningful conversations—and some truly creative group output.

Real Impact, Real People

What made these workshops stand out wasn’t just the curriculum. It was the people in the room. Leaders who were open, curious, and ready to try something new. Teams that leaned in, asked the hard questions, and supported each other through it.

We’ve already started to hear stories from leaders who are actively applying what they learned—and that’s exactly why we do this work.

🎥 Watch the video below for a behind-the-scenes look at the training—it captures the energy, laughter, and breakthroughs far better than words can.
