At Breakthrough Corporate Training, we believe productivity training should do more than share a few time-saving tips. It should help people understand themselves, clarify priorities, build better habits and walk away with practical tools they can actually use.

And yes, it can be genuinely enjoyable too.

That is exactly what I had the privilege of experiencing with Rob and the team at Cotton Australia.

The four-hour Breakthrough Time Management and Productivity session blended breakout activities, discussion, practical application and strategies for managing time more intentionally. What stood out most was the atmosphere in the room. It was full of energy, honesty and laughter, right through to the friendliest banter throughout the session.

The experience also carried a deeper connection for me. Having grown up on a farm in Saskatchewan, Canada, I remember sitting at the local garage with my dad while farmers gathered over morning coffee, laughing, talking about the farm, the weather, machinery and life. Even in tough seasons or dry periods, those conversations gave people strength.

That same grounded, people-first spirit was evident with the Cotton Australia team, and it was a big part of what made the session so engaging for me.

Rob and I also reflected on how much agriculture has advanced over the years, from educated guesses about soil inputs to today’s more targeted, data-informed and best-practice approaches. Cotton Australia’s myBMP program is a strong example of this shift. It supports growers through self-assessment, practical tools, auditing processes and best-practice standards that help ensure Australian cotton is produced according to best practice.

In this session, participants explored how to:

  • Take greater ownership of personal productivity.
  • Manage priorities and to-do lists more effectively.
  • Build routines that support consistency and follow-through.
  • Understand the neuroscience of habits and goal setting.
  • Beat procrastination and get important work done.
  • Use tools and systems to improve efficiency.
  • Appreciate different strengths, values and working styles.
  • Communicate and collaborate more effectively as a team.

We even incorporated our Life Languages Profile for each team member to unpack how we each prefer to communicate and how this relates to our current productivity strengths and areas of development.

Rob shared this feedback after the session:

“We picked the right company! Scott was a fantastic facilitator and very accommodating to our needs. During the planning phase he went out of his way to accommodate our individual needs. Nothing was too difficult and the team had nothing but positive comments around the content and delivery of our four-hour session. I would not hesitate to recommend Breakthrough Corporate Training for your team.”
